The essentials

Great news. If you're a healthcare pro, you're likely already well on your way to join the Openwork Health team. For everything else, your dedicated Openwork Health credentialing specialist will be right by your side to make it a breeze.

You’ll need to have completed the educational requirements as well as any post graduate training required in your profession.

You'll need the appropriate licensure, registration, or certification for your profession and the state where you'll be working. Our team is also here to help with renewals when required; if your credentials are nearing expiration, we'll notify you and work with you to ensure they're renewed smoothly.

Healthcare professionals who provide direct patient care are required to have a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Depending on your specialty, you may need additional certifications as well. We’ll provide guidance on the most common certifications for your specialty and work with you to find classes in your area if you don’t already have them.

You’ll need a minimum of one year of experience in your specialty but two years is strongly preferred. You’ll need to hit the ground running after the facility orientation so a solid foundation of knowledge is a key to success. Some facilities have additional requirements; your staffing specialist will help you find the right match for your level of experience.

You’ll need to provide proof of a current TB screening before you can be scheduled for your first shift.

You’ll also need to complete a drug test and a background check before your assignment. A drug screen is typically needed within 30 days of start and once per year if you stay at the same facility. Your credentialing specialist will help you book any necessary appointments.

Friends help friends find good work

If your friend is hired and completes a minimum number of hours worked, you’ll receive a bonus - and you’ll help connect your friend to a great opportunity! We think that’s a win-win.
